Excel vs Calc

Here, Excel has a farther advantage. Excel can go to XFD1048576, while Calc can only go to AMJ65536. Well, that's what you get for paying for Excel. Both can export to PDF or XLS.

OO.o and MS Office

Office had been the dominant office suite for decades now, but can free and low-priced office suites kick it out of it position such as OpenOffice, iWork, and StarOffice? Today I'm going to show you two office suite that will fit your day:Microsoft Office 2007 and OpenOffice 3. As you may know already, OpenOffice is free and can be installed on as many computers you want. Both office suites have their ups and downs. Microsoft Office Enterprise + Visio + Project took up 2559 MB, while OpenOffice only took 337 MB. An explantion for this is that OpenOffice does not have a program to make brocures and newspapers(Publisher), an email client(Outlook), a calendar app(Outlook), a sync app(Groove), an app to manage your projects(Project), or a note app(OneNote). However, most people would not need all these apps, so OpenOffice would suit them fine. On the other hand, professionals and power users would prefer MS Office for those extra applications would be useful.
OpenOffice 3 can also save in more formats than MS Office 2007.

Writer 3 vs Word 07

We can all agree that OO.o Writer can beat Word 2003, but against Word 07 is a different story.
On the top is Writer and the bottom is Word. Writer is based on MS Word 2000. Word 2007 has the new ribbon look, which goes really well with Aero. Word 2007's spelling and grammar features have improved a lot since Word 03, but Writer still does not support grammar corrections. Writer 3 loads almost twice as Word 07, but Word has more features. Writer 3 even has support for the new .DOCX format. Also, OO.o had support for PDF for many years, while Microsoft just added that feature in Office 2007.
